PRONOUNS (OBJECT)

(Kata Ganti)

Kata-kata seperti : Saya, Kamu, Dia, Mereka disebut kata ganti. Letaknya bisa pada posisi Subject atau Object, seperti :

Contoh :

                 Subject             Object

                 Saya  bertemu   dia   di pasar setiap pagi

                 Dia    bertemu   saya di pasar setiap pagi

Di dalam bahasa Indonesia kata-kata ganti tersebut sama saja bentuknya di manapun posisinya. Kata ganti ”Saya” di posisi subject dan di posisi Object bentuknya sama. Tetapi di dalam bahasa Inggris tidak demikian. Kata ganti ”Saya” adalah ”I” bila kedudukannya sebagai Subject. Tetapi bila adanya pada posisi Object, bentuknya berubah menjadi ”me”

Berikut ini adalah kata-kata ganti untuk  Subject dan Object.

Contoh :

                  John goes to school with Mary

Percakapan :

                  A : Does John go to school with Mary?

                  B : Yes, he goes to school with her

                  A : Do you go to school with John?

                  B : Yes, I go to school with him

                  A : Does Mary go to school with John and Henry?

                  B : Yes, she goes to school with them

                  A : Does John want to go with you and me?

                  B : Yes, he wants to go with us
